Website Updates
1 minute read
So yeah. The website needed updating and I'd put it off for too long. So after 6 hours of bashing my head against a wall. Re-installing the whole site THREE TIMES here we have a mostly finished update. There are still a few bugs, if you find one, please report them to me so I can fix them.
Ok here goes. The changes.
- You can now @mention people in forum posts
- We support more styles and image formats for user avatars
- The site will now autodetect the user's language and attempt to translate things that can be translated
- We now have a Cookie Consent button that you can use to accept or decline optional analytics and debugging cookies
- We still do not advertise on the site and have no plans to at this time so advertising cookies are not used
- You can now log into the site with Discord. Those who wish to link their existing accounts can do so here
- Accounts that use 2FA will still require their second factor timed code to log in with Discord
- I am looking into supporting Google accounts for logging in Soon™
- Switched to reCaptcha V2 because V3 was causing some issues
- The following invisible fixes & changes were applied
- The wiki was optimised in the backend
- the module we use to post these messages was improved
- the staff page now displays properly
- forum icons now follow the FontAwesome standard
- we can now clone forum groups to make permission managing easier
